Doctor’s Orders: You Can Try to Plan, But Life Will Just Happen
|
If you ever wonder what it’s like to balance a full-time job (that includes international travel) and earning not one, but two degrees, then you must check out our recent Office Hours chat with Dr. Tracey Wilen-Daugenti, one of the world’s leading authorities on the convergence of education, technology and the workforce. She is currently the vice president and managing director of Apollo Research Institute, and also is about to come out with her tenth (!) book.
If you think she’s doing all this so she could have fancy titles after her name, you would be wrong. Her main passion is helping women succeed. “Part of my passion, part of my happiness, is to make sure that women keep moving and driving ahead,” she said. And she is doing that by talking openly about her vast and successful career — her first jobs included a stint at Vogue and then, at the time, a little-known company named Apple — why education is the key to climbing the corporate ladder (especially if you find companies that will support you in it) and what you need to do to standout in your career.

Dr. Tracey was really wonderful...and I think it is all of our responsibilities to make sure women keep moving and driving ahead. #TogetherWeCan
