Quick & Easy Breakfast: Starbucks stop? Make it a skinny.
|
If you’re the type of person who loves your morning Starbucks, there may be a few tricks to help you chose better items for your body.
People debate whether or not coffee is good for you, but one ingredient in your morning brew that can be easily pointed out as a bad guy is the sugar. Many women order their vanilla lattes “skinny” (non-fat milk, sugar free vanilla), and this is a great option.
A Starbucks Grande Skinny Latte only contains 120 calories, 16 grams of sugar, and the added bonus of 12 grams of protein (compared to a regular grande latte that contains 250 calories, 35 grams of sugar and 12 grams of protein).
Keeping that sugar number down is an important part of maintaining a healthy diet. For those of you who do not like to eat in the early hours, the protein in a latte will also give your stomach a little something to work off of until you feel like a mid-morning snack or lunch.

I must admit, I am a Starbucks addict! Great idea. I use soy milk to keep it a little skinnier!
Also OBSESSED with the reduced fat turkey bacon sandwhich. Or as the cool starbucks kids call it rftb !
Great point! I am not one to add sugar to a drink, but I do use soy or skim milk instead of regular milk. And if I get a drink, I make sure to make it skinny.
Starbuck's oatmeal is also delicious!!!
Curious about the soy at Sbucks it's vanilla flavored and pretty sweet, no? Still, I found an excellent chai latte replacement: chai misto (tea bag + water) with soy and sugar free vanilla.
Americano with a bit of soy!! It doesn't even count ;)
love finding ways to cut back on sugar! sometimes i'll ask for a splash of chocolate milk in my iced coffee instead of adding milk and sugar, i love the extra richness the chocolate adds
or as normal people call it WTF
I am so curious about the new plates! The protein plate, etc. I tried the egg salad sandwich, which was awesome. It had so much protein!
