If you’re the type of person who loves your morning Starbucks, there may be a few tricks to help you chose better items for your body.

People debate whether or not coffee is good for you, but one ingredient in your morning brew that can be easily pointed out as a bad guy is the sugar. Many women order their vanilla lattes “skinny” (non-fat milk, sugar free vanilla), and this is a great option.

A Starbucks Grande Skinny Latte only contains 120 calories, 16 grams of sugar, and the added bonus of 12 grams of protein (compared to a regular grande latte that contains 250 calories, 35 grams of sugar and 12 grams of protein).

Keeping that sugar number down is an important part of maintaining a healthy diet. For those of you who do not like to eat in the early hours, the protein in a latte will also give your stomach a little something to work off of until you feel like a mid-morning snack or lunch.
