The Thursday Think (+) Positive: [Tall] Girls Run the World

Heels? Or Flats?
Oh, the quintessential morning wardrobe question which is normally determined by how far you’re walking that day, what meetings are on the schedule, what you’re wearing, or– admit it– how sore those feet are from dancing the night away. Well, I’m here to answer the question for you, or possibly give you yet another excuse to buy that fabulous new pair of heels, which you can’t stop thinking about.
Listen up ladies because it is Stand Tall Week, which celebrates tall women. However, I don’t care if you are 5’2″ or 6-foot, we can all take this time to remember to roll back our shoulders, puff out our chests (just a smidge), and rock those pretty patent pumps. Don’t downplay yourself with flats; your future success will thank you. As it turns out, there is some validity to the phrase “power pumps”. Besides the value of that killer-heel swag, being taller might lead to a more successful career.
The Stats: Here’s the skinny on what tall women are up to in the business world
- Money, Money, Money (in your head, sing this to the tune of O’jays): You’ll make approximately $789 more per inch per year than your shorter counterparts.
- C-Suites are in Your Future: You’re 5 times more likely to become a CEO.
- Claustrophobes Unite: Coworkers will give you up to four feet of personal space while talking to you, about the same that they give their bosses.
- Follow the Leader: Height directly correlates with leadership, giving you more confidence to take charge.
So, heels? Or flats? I think you know the answer.
