When you are sick of listening to the same playlist every day at work and your Pandora station drifts into the deep end, TurnTable.fm is your new best friend. Turntable allows you to discover new music with your friends and coworkers online. You can choose to join a room with people you know or join a room with random people who share your taste in a music genre. Turntable is your chance to channel your inner DJ and take turns playing songs that everyone else in your virtual room will be able to hear. You have to select a DJ name (creative, witty names encouraged) and pick a hilarious looking avatar to sit at the DJ table. Your friends can vote on whether they think the song is awesome or lame. (Note: nineties pop songs are always awesome.) If your coworker plays an awful song, like Paula Cole’s Where Have All the Cowboys Gone awful, you can vote that it is lame. Once a song receives too many lame votes, it will be skipped and the next song will play.

Every Friday at my office is Turntable Friday, where my coworkers and I take turns picking our favorite songs. It is an entertaining way for us to bond and discover new music. When you are too busy to pick songs yourself, you can join a room and listen to the songs your coworkers pick. Basically, if you like Pandora and Spotify, you will be obsessed with Turntable. See you at the DJ booth?
