Jorie Scholnik is an assistant professor within Student Development Instruction at Santa Fe College in Gainesville, Florida. She teaches career courses that cover modern job search techniques like creating video resumes, interviewing over Skype, and using Twitter to create a professional network. Jorie has also been working as an etiquette associate under Jacqueline Whitmore at the Protocol School of Palm Beach, Inc. for six years. There, she focuses on how to become savvy in the business arena by remembering names, making positive first impressions, dressing for success and networking with ease.

She has written numerous blog posts and newsletter articles about social networking etiquette, salary negotiation, the transition from college to the corporate world, and how to become a more effective communicator. Her article on informational interviewing etiquette tips was recently featured in USAToday College.

Jorie graduated from the University of Florida with her master’s degree in counseling and her specialist’s degree in education. She also earned two undergraduate degrees — one in public relations and the other in psychology, both with honors, from the University of Florida.
